Mike defines the very principles on what MGI is founded on, the Formula 1 mindset and his desire to bring F1 expertise in design and engineering to mainstream engineering sectors and especially green sustainable sectors such as EV and EVTOL. Outside of work, you can find Mike playing cricket, off-shore sailing or on walks with Dougie.

As the Chief Financial Officer of MGI, Claire Butler oversees the company’s financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting. With several years of experience at MGI, Claire has played a key role in ensuring financial stability, optimising financial strategies, and supporting the company’s long-term growth. Passionate about financial efficiency and strategic planning, she is dedicated to driving MGI’s success through sound fiscal management.

Phil Stanton joins MGI Engineering as Head of Design, bringing deep Formula 1 and advanced vehicle design experience. He was previously Head of Design at Fortescue Zero, working across supercars, show-cars, hypercars and retail-sector projects. In Formula 1, he was Principal Design Engineer at Williams Grand Prix Engineering, working closely with Sir Patrick Head. At MGI, Phil will support design capability and growth in defence and advanced engineering markets.

James East is our Head of Systems, having spent many years in F1 working on Powertrain installations and their associated sub-systems such as cooling, fuel, hydraulics, and electronics packaging. His career in F1 also covered several years designing structural composite components.

Chris Harris is charged with leading stress and aerodynamics groups and responsible for supporting across all projects. He’s motivated by working an F1-style environment, and working across a range of different projects. Outside of work, he likes to restore classic cars, play guitar and travel!
